Transportation Update

Dear Garden City Families,
As we prepare to welcome our students back to school, I wanted to share a few important transportation updates and ask for your patience as we begin the new school year.
As with many school districts, we continue to experience a shortage of bus drivers. As a result, we have consolidated some routes for the start of the school year. We recognize that these changes may result in adjustments to bus stops and, in some cases, additional time on the bus. We continue to actively recruit drivers and will make adjustments to routes as staffing allows.
Please allow approximately two weeks for routes and arrival and departure times to settle. The first days of school typically require adjustments as drivers become familiar with their routes and we assess actual travel times and ridership.
For our K–2 families, bus passes will be provided to students by their classroom teachers on the first day of school.
We also have several new members of our Transportation Department who have been working diligently to prepare for school opening and respond to the many inquiries we have received from families. We understand how important transportation is to your child's school day, and we appreciate your patience as our team works through each question and concern.
Our priority remains providing safe and reliable transportation for our students. Thank you for your understanding and partnership as we begin the new school year. We look forward to welcoming our students on Tuesday.
Sincerely,
Kusum
